Locating Inactive LOs in RETR to find Orphaned Agents

Orphaned agents are agents who have recently lost their go to LOs after the LO has left the mortgage industry. These agents offer a great opportunity for new prospects, since these agents will need new LOs, and they can be found in RETR by running an inactive LO search.

You can find inactive loan officers (LOs) in RETR by running a sales area search and setting the “Is Active” filter to No. Each inactive LO’s profile shows the real estate agents they’ve worked with.

How to Search for Inactive Loan Officers

Step 1: Open the Loan Officer Sales Area Search
Go to Mortgage > Find LOs > By Sales Area.

Step 2: Choose a sales area
Pick a sales area type, such as State or Zip Code, then enter the area you want to search.

Step 3: Open the Experience filter
Once your results load, click the Experience tab and scroll down to the “Is Active” option.

Step 4: Show only inactive loan officers
“Is Active” is set to Yes by default. Change it to No, then click “Apply Changes.”

How to Find Orphaned Agents From Inactive Loan Officers

Step 1: Open an inactive LO’s profile
Click into any loan officer in your filtered results. Inactive LO profiles have the same data as active ones.

Step 2: Review the agents they’ve worked with
Look through the real estate agents this loan officer has worked with.

Step 3: Add agents to a list for outreach
Open the agent profiles that interest you and add them to a list to contact later.
