How to Force-Install the RETR Sidekick Gmail Extension for Your Organization

Google Workspace admins can force-install the RETR Sidekick Chrome extension for everyone in their organization through the Google Admin console. Once it’s installed, everyone on your team sees agent and loan officer data in Gmail, and no one has to install it individually.

Installing for yourself only? See Install RETR Sidekick for Gmail.

What do I need before I start?

  • A Google Workspace Super Administrator account
  • The RETR Sidekick Extension ID: kifldfgbmfggoifchphflhcbogmemiij

How to Force-Install RETR Sidekick for Your Organization

Step 1: Sign in to the Google Admin console
Go to admin.google.com and sign in with your Super Administrator account.

Step 2: Open Chrome Apps & Extensions
From the left menu, go to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers. In some consoles, this is Chrome browser > Apps & extensions instead.

Step 3: Choose who gets the extension
In the left panel, select the Organizational Unit (OU) or group you want to install it for. To install it for your entire organization, select the top-level domain.

Step 4: Add RETR Sidekick from the Chrome Web Store
Hover over the + icon in the bottom-right corner, then select “Add from Chrome Web Store.” Search for RETR Sidekick, or paste the Extension ID kifldfgbmfggoifchphflhcbogmemiij. Then click “Select.”

Step 5: Set the installation policy to Force install
In the right panel, open the Installation policy drop-down menu. Change it from “Allow install” to one of these:

  • Force install: Installs RETR Sidekick for everyone you selected.
  • Force install + pin to browser toolbar: Installs it and keeps the RETR Sidekick icon visible in each person’s Chrome toolbar.

Step 6: Save
Click “Save” in the top-right corner.

What if I get a “Failed to add app” error?

If you see a “Failed to add app.” error, open an Incognito window in Chrome, sign in to the Google Admin console again, and repeat the steps above.
